What the Old Stones Say

We too, placed here
Some while ago by hand of man
Within this bowl of hills and sky
We stones circle.
A living part of turning Earth
Weather, lever, ice and waves,
Chisel, frosts and Earth’s deep fires:
All have shaped us.
Here in our place
Beneath unbounded measured sky
We move still.
